Thousands of users in large cities of the United States have complained that they could not access PayPal and Venmo. Users of PayPal and Venmo complained about unavailability of the apps ss most of them have failed to access their accounts. A map created by Downdetector indicated that the most significant cities were being affected by the reported outages in the U.S.
According to Downdetector, 85 percent of PayPal cases concern log-in, a d a significant number of consumers said they cannot log in and get a response with the message that they are not able to complete the request. Moreover, 9 percent complained about payment issues, and 5 percent complained about purchase issues.
As per Downdetector, 9656 users have reported PayPal outages as if 12:10 a.m. today, which is higher than the usual number of reports per day that is 4. Downdetector monitors outages when status reports are provided by various sources.
The PayPal outage seems to be impacting the entire users across the globe. Due to its comment section, one of the users posted on the site that he was in Germany and that he has not seen the app online. Constant complaints of frustrations of the app have also been raised by many of the users.
“This is ridiculous. I can’t get into turn my card on, and I can’t get in to transfer. Get your act together, PayPal!” one user posted. Other users also chimed in.
“Wyoming here. PayPal won’t let me transfer funds or dispute a charge. PayPal is not doing well today. Arrrgh.”
In the case of Venmo, Downdetector records that the amount of reports had increased dramatically; at 10:53 am, there were 13 reports and at 12:03 am, the report count had soared to 7080. 54% of the mentioned issues are connected to the app, 38 to the login, and 8 to the site.
According to Downdetector live outage heat map, numerous Venmo outages are located in the east coast of the US and in such cities as New York, Washington DC, and Boston. The other large cities that were impacted by the outage include Los Angeles, Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, and Seattle.
Venmo support account has responded to inquiries on X that the site was experiencing a current problem, and its support team would attempt to address it as soon as possible.
“We understand the inconvenience you are facing at the moment,” the company told several users.
The X support team of PayPal communicated the same to the users. A PayPal official provided the statement to The Express, stating “PayPal and Venmo experienced a brief service disruption that has since been resolved.”
