“For a world where everyone and everything is interconnected, your identity is the key to being productive,” she says. “Without proper boundaries, however, it could easily become your weakest point.”
Jyothsna exemplifies proactive leadership as a Senior Advanced Solutions Manager, anticipating and mitigating potential issues before they arise.
With over a decade of expertise in enterprise IT, she’s earned her reputation both by designing complex projects and changing the paradigm behind access management, trust, and security in global enterprises.
Jyothsna specializes in the fascinating domain of Identity and Access Management (IAM). As many organizations view IAM simply as a part of their security policy, a mere technicality, Jyothsna sees things differently.
“IAM is strategic,” she says. “This is the strategy for deciding who is supposed to do what, when, and why. The way we do IAM can determine whether work gets done quickly, whether breaches are stopped before they happen, and whether people are empowered instead of hindered.”
When Jyothsna came on board at Scientific Games Corporation, she found the same set of challenges that face many rapidly-growing multinational companies – disjointed identity systems, uncoordinated access control mechanism and expanding cloud-based applications. What did she do about that? She completely redesigned the identity system for Scientific Games.
Her initial strategy was consolidation, centralizing access across diverse domains and legacy systems into a cohesive identity platform, leveraging Okta and Azure Active Directory to enhance security and efficiency. This wasn’t just a technical project, it was a political and operational one, requiring buy-in across business units, security teams, and even external partners. She made it work.
From there, she implemented innovative access policies, multi-factor authentication, and role-based controls, enabling security without compromising usability. And she didn’t stop at internal users. Recognizing the growing reliance on third-party vendors, Jyothsna built out an entire external identity domain with granular controls, just-in-time access, and real-time monitoring. This move protected sensitive systems without blocking collaboration, a balance that many organizations struggle to strike.
And most impressively, she infused automation into every corner of the identity lifecycle. “Manual provisioning and de-provisioning just aren’t sustainable at scale,” she says. “So, we automated it—start to finish.” Using integrations across Okta, Azure, ServiceNow, and Power Automate, she created dynamic workflows that triggered access changes instantly when roles shifted or employment ended. That meant fewer tickets, faster onboarding, and most critically, less exposure.
While security is crucial, Jyothsna emphasizes that agility is equally vital, ensuring that systems are not only secure but also adaptable and responsive to change.
Jyothsna recognized the inefficiencies inherent in traditional infrastructure and guided the firm through its shift to cloud-native design, moving applications to Azure IaaS and PaaS and restructuring workloads for scalability and rapid processing. Thanks to her vision, backend functions that used to take hours now take minutes. Leveraging Power Platform solutions, which Jyothsna promoted, even non-technical employees could construct their own applications and visualizations without the need for IT intervention, fostering a culture of agile innovation.
The adoption of a cloud-first approach didn’t just cut costs; it created exponential value. “By abandoning our old technology, we reduced expenses,” Jyothsna explains, “but we got far more in return in terms of agility, resilience, and flexibility.”
Her colleagues praise her for her cool headedness during crises, her razor-sharp strategy, and her commitment to the well-being of those she works with. “She’s someone who’ll roll up her sleeves with you to tackle a tricky problem, then join you in the boardroom to articulate its business implications,” shares one of her peers.
Yet, mentorship also comes into play in defining Jyothsna’s professional journey. It’s no secret that Jyothsna dedicates a lot of attention to empowering young professionals, female ones and those who work in engineering fields that are underrepresented. In this way, she helps them understand the nuances of clouds, compliance, and security while building confidence in their abilities.
When it comes to Jyothsna’s future plans, identity intelligence comes first. According to the leader, the next evolution of IAM will be associated with real-time analysis, user behavior modeling, and anomalies detected via machine learning. “Security isn’t about protecting your system against the wrong actors, but enabling access for the right ones,” the expert says. “And we can do it with precision, insights, and confidence.”
