 How can I get MTG Arena codes?

Wizards will often include codes in their MTG Arena newsletters, especially around releasing a new set. But you don’t have to rely on their generosity to grab treats. Each physical planeswalker deck (from Guilds of Ravnica) comes with a code to unlock its cards in MTG Arena so that you can use all of the same cards online as on the table.

However, these codes are for one-time use, so it’s best to buy new copies of the turntables if you’re dead on their digital counterparts.

Be warned, though, the Commander and Challenger decks don’t include MTG arena codes, so don’t go out and buy any in the hopes of increasing your digital card collection.

If you caught a deck in an MTG pre-release event, look inside your pack to find an Arena code. The rewards for these vary: you can find a cosmetic unlock, entry into a limited-time Arena event, or a handful of boosters.

However, only one pre-release code from each set can be used per MTG Arena account. So if you find yourself with a spare, why not do the honorable thing and give it to a friend, or stick it on Reddit for someone else to grab?

You can also find codes in MTG’s Secret Lair range of premium boxes, which unlock exclusive cards and cosmetics. An expensive option, considering the cost of each Secret Lair drop, but very chic.
