Discord is also testing it’s first-ever recap feature of 2026, and based on the example of Spotify and YouTube, the company is stealing notes to provide fans with an overview of what they listened to over the year.

With the end of the year, entertainment websites on the internet start releasing features which give the user a complete recap of how they utilised it throughout the last year.
Discord has released a first year-end recap feature, which gives users a user-specific overview of their Discord activity over the last year 2026.
The feature, which is referred to as Checkpoint, was launched on 4th December worldwide and will be accessible to all users in the next few days as per the company. It is also the first annual summary of user behaviour that Discord has presented, just like Spotify or YouTube has done with its Wrapped or Recap.
In order to use the feature, the users should update the app to the most recent version. The checkpoint is visible on desktop through the flag next to the top-right corner and on mobile, it is visible in the tab marked “You” once the banner is available.
Some of the users might not see the feature at once, as indicated by Discord. This can be the case when they have not been utilizing the platform sufficient throughout the year to generate a summary, or when personalisation of their daa has been turned off in their privacy preferences.
After activation, Checkpoint offers more in-depth statistics about user activity in 2026, such as, the number of messages sent, the number of hours in voice channels, the favorite servers and top partners. It also shows the five most played ganes by a particular user.
Discord claimed that the most-used emoji in the global scale in the year was the red heart, with the sobbing face coming in at the second place with the joy emoji at the third. The fire emoji was on the list of top five in the platform first.
Upon viewing their data, users are given one of ten Checkpoint cards, with one of them being an avatar decoration up to 15 January 2026.
As per the figures, Discord experienced 744 billion messages and reactions sent by the users in 2026. League of Legends was the most popular game in Discord communities. Another interesting appearance was the case of R.E.P.O, Marvel Rivals, Minecraft and Genshin Impact. The game Rematch was stated to be ami g the fastest growing games.
Discord also noted that Checkpoint rollout will proceed all week long, and all qualified users would gain access to it when the update becomes available to their devices.
