History

This type of breed of dog originated from Germany. It is a sizeable, domesticated animal that is not so much fury. It has a tight-fitting and smooth coat. This type of breed is manifested in various shades, including brindle, fawn, white, or the body covered with white or without white markings.

This breed was developed in the late 19th century in Germany. The breed evolved from Bullenbeisser, an extinct type in today’s world, and came from Great Britain. Bullenbeisser was primarily used in the hunting of bears.

Their job was running after the wild boar; hold on to them until hunters arrive. With the advancement in hunting, swift dogs were preferred. This led to the breeding of a smaller Bullenbeisser in Brabant, Belgium. The Brabant Bullenbeisser is a direct ancestor of to date’s Boxer.

Three Germans played a vital role in the establishment of the boxer dog. Elard Konig, R.Hopner, and Friedrich Robert sustained the breed and presented it at a dog show in 1894. In 1896, the first Boxer Club was founded, Deutscher Boxer Club. The breed was introduced in other parts of Europe in the late 19th century.

It was inaugurated in the United States in the 20th century. Boxer dogs were used in World War I and II as a messenger for attacks, pack carrier, guard, and military work. So why do I love keeping boxer dogs?

With the harsh economic situations, everyone would love using less cost but to maximize the gains. These features keep it healthy. So, you won’t often spend on veterinary services. It goes without any question that rearing boxer dogs have an economic sense.

Boxer dogs are not furry; instead, they have short coats. This is advantageous as this type of coat requires little maintenance. They have natural oils in their skin which keeps them fresh. I don’t spend much on cleaning products like dog shampoo, as boxer dogs should only bathe twice a year. See this link to read more https://www.rover.com/blog/boxers-perfect-dog/.
