Importance of Elevator For Playing Minecraft

An elevator, as per the normal meaning, is machinery used for carrying people from one floor to another. Thus, it relieves the pain of moving up or down the stairs. Similarly, in Minecraft, you can move up and down with the help of the elevator.

Furthermore, the water elevator Minecraft allows effective usage of the water blocks to create an incredible path. Thus, you can have easy movement between water and land. The magma blocks and soul sand are the primary elements to create the elevator.

You need to have two elevators operating simultaneously for perfect functioning. You need to keep around 20 blocks between the two elevators. 4 solid blocks are the average count to ensure the appropriate working of the elevators. Along with the water elevators, you can also have the Traction Elevators.

How to make an Elevator in Minecraft

How to Make a Water Elevator in Minecraft

To begin with the discussion of how to make an elevator in Minecraft, I would like to focus on the necessary materials first. The quantity of the materials will depend upon the elevator size. Moreover, you will also need additional elements like a piston, Redstone dust, etc., for a perfect approach to creating an elevator. You will require;-

  • 7 observers
  • Building blocks
  • 10 slime blocks
  • 2 buttons
  • 1 piston
  • 6 sticky pistons
  • 1 Redstone torch
  • 14 honey blocks
  • Redstone dust (1 sack)
  • 6 obsidians

Coming to a detailed process, you must follow the sequence of laying the foundation for making the elevator steady. Always remember a careless approach in this step can hamper the game a lot.

Step 1: Crafting the Flying Machine

Prepare the ground for the elevator with the help of 3 obsidian blocks. Cover each layer with Redstone dust when you are laying the blocks for the next floor. Repeat the sequence for 3rd or 4th floors. Give the guard with honey blocks positioned behind. Place the sticky piston slime blocks to create the Flying Machine.

Step 2: Building the Wall

  • Put slime blocks in two columns on the first floor
  • Face-up observers and 2 sticky pistons will be above these blocks
  • Repeat the process of Step 1 but with the honey blocks instead of the slime blocks
  • Use the building blocks for the rectangular doors on different floors
  • Prepare the pathway and place the button in the right position to activate the elevator
  • Connect the button and the Redstone dust
  • Take a test ride with the elevator

Your elevator will be ready to operate. However, you should place the buttons for the other floors, too, in a similar fashion. Your movement in the game will be easier and more convenient with the support of this elevator.

The Process of Building the Water Elevator

A fall in Minecraft can cause huge damage. It can be fatal, too. Moreover, it becomes impossible to use the ladder every time. Sometimes, the gap is too big to cover with some blocks or ladders. Therefore, it becomes essential to build a water elevator in Minecraft.

An elevator will act as a simple solution for smooth movement, both up and down. It will help you significantly and, thus, be a good investment in Minecraft. Things required for crafting this amazing piece are;-

  • 4 wooden doors
  • 2 buckets of water
  • Magma block
  • Solid blocks (preferably glass)
  • A stack of Kelp
  • Soul sand block

The aesthetics of your elevator is also important to make it look more appealing. However, for the outlet, normal solid blocks or cobblestone blocks can be good alternatives, too. Now, I will tell you about the final building process in depth.

How to make an elevator in Minecraft is not a very challenging affair if you know the process well. Determine the height of your elevator first to decide how many blocks to use. Let us go step-by-step. This guide will undoubtedly help you get through all the troubles of moving across different platforms in Minecraft.

Step 1: Start the preparation with Buckets of Water

You should be ready with sufficient water to create two elevators at a time. Make buckets and fill them up with water from any water resource like ocean, lake, etc. A click and your bucket will be full.

Step 2: Get the Kelp

The next step is obtaining the Kelp. Source water blocks are the only thing for the bubble streams. Therefore, separate water blocks are necessary for every floor. However, you can quickly turn flowing water into the required water blocks by using Kelp. This will save you time while you are busy collecting the stacks of water buckets.

Kelp is a plant found in various parts of Minecraft. You need to search and get them fast for the elevator-making process. Break these plants found mainly in the oceans. One break can provide numerous Kelp at once. It will resolve your problem instantly.

Step 3: Create the Entrance Door

You should use wood to form the entrance door of the elevator. Get some wooden planks on the crafting table. Easily, you will have the door ready. Any type of wood will serve the purpose. However, the oak is the most popular one.

Attach these doors with the water blocks, and your elevator door will be ready to use. These doors act as a support to prevent the water from flowing out.

Step 4: Magma Blocks and Soul Sand Blocks Collection

At this stage, you have to create the Nether portal. It will help you reach the Nether dimension to form the magma and soul sand blocks. On the one hand, soul sand elevates the process by helping the bubbles to flow upwards. Similarly, magma blocks will support the downward movement of the bubbles, on the other.

Therefore, both these blocks are inevitable to craft the elevators. The oceans are also a good source of these blocks.

Step 5: Creating Towers

Place one block and build three glass towers around it. The fourth side will remain empty. Instead, there would be a small door-like structure here. Now, put an entrance door in front of the elevator to hold the water inside.

Step 6: Building Fourth Tower

Move above the doorway to create the Fourth tower.

Step 7: Fill up the elevator

Fill up the elevator tower by pouring water from the water buckets. Automatically, it will flow down and finally finish the process. Furthermore, put the Kelp inside to create the water source blocks. You may place one kelp over another to form a tower.

Step 8: Break the Kelp Tower

Now, in the last step, break the bottom-most part of the Kelp tower. As it crumples down, you will be left with only the water source blocks.

Step 9: Activate the Elevator

It is now time to activate the elevator. Place the magma and soul sandblocks at the base of the structure. Indeed, the water elevator Minecraft will be ready to take up or down the surfaces.

Conclusion

Hope this article was helpful, especially if you are new to the game. Minecraft is easy to go when you have sufficient knowledge about the structures. Learning how to make an elevator in Minecraft will eventually help you travel effortlessly.

The rules say that you have to follow the steps to create some wonders. Elevators are imperative for moving hassle-free in any part of Minecraft. Be it the magma blocks, soul sand blocks, or the water source blocks, you have everything ready. Find the kelp to get the water source blocks. Your elevator will be ready within a short time.
