After a painfully long delay, we, at last, see some ray of hope for Hinamatsuri Season 2. The anime came out three years ago, in 2018. Yet the show’s creators haven’t ordered a second instalment making everybody think the same thing, Will there be a season 2 of Hinamatsuri? The answer to the question is, as soon as the eighteenth volume of the manga comes out, Studio Feel will finally have enough source material to create the sequel to the anime. The much-loved Studio Feel anime debuted in Japan in 2018. It received international acclaim following its release on Netflix. The series became an instant hit, and fans started clamoring for a second season. To this day, it’s been two years already, and the studio still hasn’t waved the green flag. With each passing day, the loyal Hinamatsuri fan base grows more and more impatient.

Volume 18: Delayed!
Hinamatsuri is originally a seinen manga series written and illustrated by Masao Ōtake. At the start of 2020, the mangaka published a total of 17 volumes. The most recent, volume 17, was released on September 14, 2019. The manga is currently running may continue for multiple volumes in the future. Now, fans are waiting for Volume 18, which has been slated for release in March 2020.
However, we are past March 2020, and neither the manga artist nor its publisher has confirmed the release of volume 18.
One of the main reasons for this delay could be the recent outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). This tragic global pandemic has affected almost every business, including the entertainment industry. Therefore, the publication of Hinamatsuri volume 18 may be delayed until the tension subsides. However, once the manga volume comes out, hinamatsuri anime Season 3 could go into production as well.
Will Hinamatsuri season 2 ever be released?
The first season of the popular anime lasted 12 episodes from April to June 2018. The episode consumed the plot of the first nine volumes of the manga. The last episodes of the anime ended with chapter 47 of volume 9. However, the series skipped a bunch of chapters on those 47 chapters. In total, the anime series skips 19 chapters and covers just 28, as reported by Anime Daily.
Hinamatsuri Season 2 is expected to cover nine other manga volumes, i.e., volumes 10-18. But, as with the first season, Studio Feel could also skip several chapters of these, volumes. Therefore, one of the main reasons for hinamatsuri season 2 is the late release of volume 18.
Hinamatsuri Season 2: A Three-Year Time Jump (spoilers)
The final season of the comedic anime of Feel will take a three-year time jump this season. As per the plot of volume 10 onwards, the story will begin as Nitta and Hina move into a new neighborhood as father and daughter. Hina is now a high school student and will soon find a part-time job. For her part, Nitta tries to hide his yakuza status from society while assuming his role as a single father.
However, things will get crazy when Hina meets her future boyfriend, Hitoshi Maeda, who is also the son of a yakuza; hinamatsuri season 2 will be packed with romance and yakuza action with its regular dose of comedy.
Hinamatsuri Season 2 release date
At the moment, the creators of the anime are not ready to make a new season. It is therefore difficult to predict a release date without renewal. Based on current circumstances, new episodes of hinamatsuri season 2 may not arrive until 2022 or 2023. However, we promise to let you know as soon as an update arrives.
