The industrial world is no stranger to technology. From automated robots that are powered through sophisticated artificial intelligence to motorized machinery that is powered via Step Linear Actuators, technology is now integral to industrial companies.

Depending on the type of company and the services that it provides, different pieces of machinery may be used. For example, the tools found in a manufacturing warehouse will be significantly different from those required on a construction site.

Warehouses are likely to use automated software to manage their inventory and streamline the fulfillment process. Construction companies will dedicate a large portion of their budget to buying powerful pieces of machinery that make building and demolition projects easier.

Finding the right pieces of machinery for the specific needs of the business will save time and labour costs. Here are some common types of machinery that are used in the industrial world.

Industrial Mixers

The mixing of various materials is an essential component of many industrial processes to create a homogeneous product from multiple different substances. Mixing is achieved via large industrial mixers that use a powerful and consistent rotating mechanism.

Industrial mixers can blend and emulsify a wide range of different materials and they come in multiple forms. The most common types of mixers include double arm mixers, homogenizer mixers, and planetary mixers.

Electric Generators

When electrical input is required, electrical generators can be used to power certain pieces of machinery. They are also used as a backup if there is a power cut.

Generators can also be used to provide extra power if there is an insufficient supply. They can produce electrical energy for wind, steam, and gas turbines.

Conveyor Belts

Conveyor belts can be found in pretty much every warehouse and distribution center. They may also be found on some construction sites.

There are several different types of conveyor belts but all of them perform the same basic function. They transfer materials and products from one place to another on a long, motorized belt.

Some common applications of conveyor belts include loading products into a delivery van or unloading them into the warehouse and sorting materials for transportation to a specific area of the warehouse.

Conveyor systems can significantly increase productivity and throughput. The simplest type of conveyor uses inertia and gravity to push products forward along the belt. Powered conveyors include roller and belt conveyors that use a motor to transport products to their destination.

Roller conveyors are usually used for heavier objects. Belt conveyors are more appropriate for lighter materials because their slip-free rubber surface prevents anything from falling off the belt.

Cranes and Excavators

Both cranes and excavators are common pieces of machinery found on construction sites. Several different types of cranes are used to move heavy materials from one place to another when manual transportation is impossible.

Excavators are used to digging up materials from the ground to create holes and trenches where building foundations and pipelines can be laid. They are usually used in large-scale commercial projects, such as the construction of housing, bridges, and tunnels.
